It's been so long since I've updated this page, I have resolved to regale you with some of my latest treasures, starting with one of my most favorite subjects EVER: Water.
Several weeks ago I made a brief excursion to Dalton, MA, where I discovered the fountain above. And having discovered it, I felt obliged to take some closeups, which you will find above right, below right and below.
On the 5th of July (an ominous date!) I took a walk on the berm alongside the mighty Hoosic River. On the right is something I found on my way there. Below that is the first view of the river you get when reaching the top of the berm. Below are some closeups.
Luck is a thing that is never to be underestimated. I came in to work one day to find that a rock (thrown by a lawn mower) and struck our front door window and (over about half an hour's time) shattered it, resulting in the stunning photo above. Below, a lucky shot from my stroll on the berm.
Above, a nice view I got on the Ashuwillticook Trail last year (2014). And below, a couple skateboarders on the selfsame trail.
While driving through Dalton, I came upon the lovely millpond below, where I stopped to get some photos both serene and spectacular (below and left).
And to close out the subject of water, below is a very recent photo of my great niece enjoying herself in her other great uncle's pool.
Above is an example of what I refer to as "ugly beauty." It's nothing you stop and admire, yet the line and composition are intriguing. Below, an interesting ice formation.
Did I say I was off the subject of water? Silly me! Below (and below that) are two of the Hoosic, only in Adams this time. I was just off the Ashuwillticook Trail.
